Unbound Runner Privacy
UNBOUND Runner — what this game stores
A plain-English note. Our full privacy policy is here.
UNBOUND Runner has no accounts, no sign-in, and never asks for your email. Here's everything it does with data.
On your device
The game saves your progress in your browser's local storage so it's there next time:
- A random ID that identifies this browser (not you)
- Your display name, if you choose to enter one
- Best score per level, pins earned, which levels you've finished
- Sound preference, and which one-time prompts you've already seen
Clearing your browser data for this site erases all of it and starts you fresh.
On the leaderboard
If you enter a display name and save a score, we send that name, the score, the level, and any pins earned to a database that powers the public leaderboard.
Anything you type as a display name is visible to everyone who opens the leaderboard. Use a handle rather than your full name if you'd rather not be identifiable. You can change it any time, and you can play without entering one — your score still posts, as GUEST.
Anonymous analytics
We count plays using PostHog: which level was started, how it ended, score, and how far you got. These are tied to the random device ID above, never to a person. We don't create user profiles, and your display name is never sent to analytics — only the fact that one was set.
If you arrived from a link with tracking tags on it, we record which link it was, so we know whether the shirt or the LinkedIn post worked better.
What we don't do
No email capture. No ads. No selling or sharing data with anyone. No cross-site tracking of you around the web.
Questions or want your leaderboard entry removed?
Email jon@prairiepathmarketing.com and I'll take it off.
